Costello Medical were delighted to have a team of 18 colleagues attend ISPOR Europe 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark this November – our biggest ever delegation!
The agenda this year provided the sense of a threshold moment for HEOR, with the arrival in force of transformative and wide-reaching topics: artificial intelligence (AI) in HEOR; the impending European Union (EU) Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) process; and the EU Commission’s new legislative proposal for pharmaceutical regulation. There has been some coverage of these topics previously, but this year saw these themes, alongside the ever-present real-world evidence (RWE), dominate the agenda. It was also notable to see the discussion of these topics move from the theoretical to the practical, reflecting the need for all parts of the HEOR community to prepare for these developments that will have a huge impact on the nature of HEOR for years to come. Combined with a record attendance for an ISPOR conference (>5,600 delegates!), this created a real buzz around the Bella Center.
There was, of course, plenty more on the conference agenda besides AI, JCA and RWE, with breakout sessions, podium presentations and posters providing updates on cutting-edge methods in HEOR and latest insights into market access policy for pharmaceuticals and MedTech. We were pleased to contribute 9 research posters of our own to the conference (please see here for these and our other published research).
Our conference attendees have prepared commentaries on a variety of specific topics from the conference at the following links. We hope you enjoy reading them!
