In partnership with the University of Cambridge, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the National University of Singapore, we host professionals from low- or middle-income countries for three months to work collaboratively with us on a healthcare problem relevant to their community.
Our ultimate goal is to support public health efforts to reduce the burden of disease in low- or middle-income countries. The Costello Medical Global Health Internship Scheme also supports the intern’s professional development, which we hope allows them to train other local practitioners in evidence-based medicine after successful completion of the internship.

The Global Health Internship has been an enriching experience for me. As a clinical doctor newly entering the health economics space, this role has deepened my understanding of the field and bolstered my skills in research and economic evaluation. Beyond facilitating my professional growth, Costello has also made me feel genuinely connected to a team that values collaboration and camaraderie, be it in division meetings or while grabbing a cup of tea in the kitchen!
I am very grateful for my internship experience at Costello Medical. The staff at the company, alongside their expertise, provided the assistance I needed and helped me navigate the challenges I encountered while working on my project. Experiencing the working culture at Costello also enhanced my time management skills and provided me with hands-on experience in desk-based research project work. The social events and mental support offered by the company helped me exercise work-life balance, highlighting the importance of nurturing our well-being and maintaining good relationships with colleagues without compromising our work performance. My internship at Costello has given me unique and comprehensive experiences, and most importantly, I produced something from my project that I can bring back to my home country!
My global health internship has been an incredible learning experience. The support and friendliness from all the staff have made it a welcoming place to grow. While developing the family planning toolkit for Nigeria, I have gotten invaluable knowledge and practical skills. The resources available at Costello helped me adapt swiftly, allowing me to focus on creating this impactful work. These 12 weeks have been the most rewarding of my professional journey so far.
