Naomi van Hest

UK Head of Health Economics

Graduated with a BSc in Business (Economics) and a BSc in Behavioural Science (Psychology) at Queensland University of Technology, with a 12-month exchange to the University of Leeds.

2018

Joined Costello Medical in January as a Health Economist Intern before successfully interviewing for a permanent Health Economist role in April.

I was also able to attend training sessions at the University of York which focussed on topics including “Economic Modelling to Inform Clinical Trial Design” and “Decision Analytic Modelling for Economic Evaluation”.

2019

Promoted to Senior Health Economist in April. In September, I began studying for a Master’s degree in Health Data Analytics with University College London, which was funded by the company.

I was especially proud to have taken a leading role on pioneering and largely automating our survival analysis work, which is a crucial element to economic models in a number of indications, in particular oncology.

2020

Promoted to Consultant Health Economist in April, a role which allowed me to enjoy a higher level of client responsibility as I provide them with strategic and technical advice and guidance on model conceptualisation and development.
